Hikvision DS-3WAP521-SI Wi-Fi 5 1200M In-Wall Access Point

Hikvision DS-3WAP521-SI Wi-Fi 5 1200M In-Wall Access Point

A ceiling AP in a hotel corridor serves the corridor. The signal it puts through a closed room door and into the room beyond is a fraction of what a guest expects at check-in. The same problem appears in hospital wards and student dormitories — shared APs serving spaces they cannot adequately penetrate. The Hikvision DS-3WAP521-SI in-wall panel access point solves this by putting one AP inside each room. It fits directly into a standard 86mm wall junction box. No new cabling runs. No ceiling drilling. One AP per room, properly placed.

One AP Per Room — Inside the Room

The DS-3WAP521-SI fits a standard 86mm panel cassette without destroying the original decoration. It replaces a wall plate. The existing Ethernet cable in the wall connects directly to the AP’s PoE input. Installation takes minutes per room. The AP sits flush with the wall surface — identical in footprint to a standard power socket. Plugable

Inside the room, the signal is short-range and unobstructed. Every client in the room connects to its own dedicated AP. No shared corridor signal. No wall penetration losses. No interference from adjacent rooms fighting over the same AP.

1167Mbps Dual-Band 802.11ac Wave 2

The DS-3WAP521-SI delivers 802.11ac Wave 2 at 1167Mbps total throughput across dual bands — 5GHz and 2.4GHz simultaneously. 2×2 MU-MIMO serves multiple devices at the same time. A guest streaming 4K on the TV while working on a laptop and a tablet gets full speed on all three. The 5GHz radio handles high-bandwidth tasks. The 2.4GHz radio handles legacy devices and longer-range connections within the room. USB Memory Direct

Two Gigabit LAN Ports — Wired Extension From the Wall

The DS-3WAP521-SI carries two Gigabit LAN ports with one PoE input. The PoE input powers the AP from the wall cable. The second LAN port passes through to a wired device — a desk phone, a smart TV, or a laptop — without needing a separate switch in the room. One cable in. Wi-Fi and a wired port out. The room is fully connected from a single wall installation. USB Memory Direct

Intelligent Fast Roaming and Auto RF Optimisation

The DS-3WAP521-SI supports intelligent fast roaming and Auto RF optimisation. As guests move from room to room or between floors, the AP hands off the connection without dropping the session. Auto RF optimisation adjusts channel and power settings automatically across the AP network — reducing interference between adjacent room APs and maximising throughput for every connected device. USB Memory Direct

Where the DS-3WAP521-SI Gets the Work Done

The Hotel Delivering Per-Room Guest Wi-Fi

A hotel with 40 rooms and a single corridor AP per floor delivers inconsistent Wi-Fi. Guests in corner rooms, on the far side from the AP, or behind concrete partitions report weak signals. The DS-3WAP521-SI replaces that architecture with one AP per room, installed in the existing wall junction box in each room. Every guest connects to an AP inside their own room. Signal strength is consistent regardless of room position. The pass-through LAN port connects the in-room TV or desk phone without a separate switch. The Hospital Ward With Per-Bed Connectivity Requirements

Medical staff using tablets for patient records and monitoring need reliable Wi-Fi at the bedside. Patients using personal devices expect consistent connectivity throughout their stay. A corridor AP serving a ward through partition walls does not deliver either. The DS-3WAP521-SI installs in the wall junction box of each ward bay. Each zone gets its own dedicated AP. Auto RF optimisation coordinates adjacent APs to minimise interference between bays.

The Student Dormitory Block

The DS-3WAP521-SI is suitable for school dormitories and dense residential environments where many users share a building. Each dormitory room gets one AP. Students do not compete for a shared corridor signal. Fast roaming keeps sessions active as students move between their rooms, common areas, and study spaces. SSID and VLAN binding separates student traffic from administrative or staff networks on the same physical infrastructure. The Office With Structured Wall Cabling Already in Place

A modern office fit-out often includes Ethernet outlets at every workstation position. The DS-3WAP521-SI converts those outlets into Wi-Fi access points — one per workstation zone, installed in the existing wall plate position. No new cabling. No ceiling installation. No visible AP hardware cluttering the workspace. Each zone gets dedicated wireless capacity rather than competing for a shared overhead AP.
